# hairtransplantreviews.guide

Site grounding for agents without the hairtransplantreviews.guide repository: its seven charter files, unchanged except that headings sit two levels lower and every term id the pinned version defines, in the frontmatter blocks too, is followed by its label from the pinned version. The YAML blocks are therefore for reading, not parsing; the repo files are the source.

### BRAND

#### Name and entity
Hair Transplant Reviews Guide (hairtransplantreviews.guide), founded 2026 and published by Thomas Prommer. Entity home: https://hairtransplantreviews.guide/en/about/ (`about.manifest.json`). Contact comms@flywheel.bz. Pre-launch: the site is live with noindex.

#### Promise
Real prices, aggregated patient reviews and the clinical cautions for every hair restoration option, at home or abroad, before you book.

#### Personality
The sage, with an outlaw streak. It explains what each technique is and is not, cites ISHRS and peer-reviewed sources, and lays prices side by side by country. The outlaw side is the anti-broker stance from the positioning document: it names hair mills, ghost surgeons and package prices that leave things out, which brokers paid per patient do not.

#### Visual pointers
Brand kit in `brand/` (README.md, the "League Table" logo, `brand/source/htr-colors.json`). Design tokens come from `@flywheel/content`; layout in `src/pages/[lang]/procedures/[slug].astro` and `tailwind.config.mjs`.

#### Do / Don't
Do: show cost by destination country and say what a package price excludes. Do: separate what patients report from what the clinical literature says. Do: qualify "permanent" as the EDITORIAL_RULES require.
Don't: call a transplant a cure, promise density or results, or say "best clinic in Turkey". Don't: take commission for referrals or sell ranking positions. Don't: give clinical advice.

```
### VOICE: hairtransplantreviews.guide
> Loaded by /humanizer (Step 0) and the content publishing gate (drafting Step 1
> + humanizer Step 3). If absent, both fall back to generic mode.
> Agent draft 2026-10-03 from strategy-work positioning.md (Brand Voice), docs/EDITORIAL_RULES.md and two live procedure articles. Pending owner review.
> YMYL: every clinical page stays "medical review pending" until a qualified reviewer signs it.
#### 1. Identity & Register
- Voice owner / who speaks: the guide, addressing the reader as "you". Published by Thomas Prommer; no byline on procedure articles yet.
- Register: consumer, with clinical terms defined inline (abbr tooltips on first use).
- Language/locale: en source; de and tr in Phase 1, fr, es, pt via the DeepL pipeline.
- One-line essence: "Clinical accuracy with human empathy, direct about costs and risks, never dismissive of anxiety about hair loss."
#### 2. Audience
- Primary audience: adults considering hair restoration at home or abroad (AUDIENCE.md first-time-researchers); then destination planners, recovering patients and non-surgical option seekers.
- Reader's job-to-be-done: compare procedures, real prices and clinics before booking.
- Assume they know the words "FUE" and "Turkey" from marketing. Always explain technique differences, who does each step, what a package price includes, and donor limits.
#### 3. Tone Axes
- Formal   ──●────  Casual
- Authority ─●────  Peer
- Serious  ●──────  Playful
- Concise  ────●──  Expansive
- Default editorial_track: factual, with a firm point of view on safety and pricing
#### 4. Person, POV & Cadence
- Person: second (you) for the reader; the guide itself stays impersonal.
- Sentence rhythm: a claim, then the mechanism or number behind it. Medium-length sentences, an occasional short verdict.
- Paragraph length: 3 to 5 sentences in intros; tables carry comparisons.
- Keep: naming what marketing leaves out; separating patient reports from clinical cautions; ending with practical rules. Avoid: hype, reassurance without evidence, clinic-brochure phrasing.
#### 5. Lexicon
- Preferred terms: graft, follicular unit, donor area, recipient area, Norwood scale, hair mill, package price, ISHRS.
- Banned phrases (from docs/EDITORIAL_RULES.md, beyond the humanizer list): "cure" for baldness, "complete restoration", "100% success rate", "guaranteed results", "painless", "best clinic in Turkey/Istanbul", "natural-looking guaranteed", "hairline as dense as before", "Norwood 7 can be fully restored".
- Capitalization & spelling rules: FUE, DHI, FUT, PRP, SMP, ISHRS in capitals; "Norwood scale"; "permanent" only as "the transplanted follicles are permanent; surrounding native hair may continue to thin".
- Domain-jargon level: technical terms allowed with an inline definition at first use.
#### 6. E-E-A-T / Experience Claims
- Authentic experience this voice can claim: none clinical and none first-hand as a patient. The positioning line "the friend who's already been through this" is a tone target, not a claim; it must not appear as experience until someone with that experience is named.
- Named author + bio source: Thomas Prommer, publisher (https://hairtransplantreviews.guide/en/about/, https://prommer.net/).
- Quantified credential for bios: technology executive with 20+ years leading digital transformation and engineering organizations for Fortune 500 companies (about.manifest.json). Not a medical credential.
- Citation posture: ISHRS first, then peer-reviewed PubMed journals, then device-maker clinical literature, then national medical associations. Turkish clinic-aggregator sites are not acceptable sources for clinical cautions (docs/EDITORIAL_RULES.md).
- Original-data hooks this voice owns: patient reports from the reviews database (property_id 2), cost by destination country, the planned price index and graft calculator.
- Reviewer: no named reviewer. Neither the repo nor the live site names a medical reviewer for this site (checked 2026-10-03).
- "What I got wrong" angle: not yet sourced. A trichologist or ISHRS-member reviewer is still to be found (strategy-work README open question 2).
#### 7. Gold-Standard Examples
- Example A (from https://hairtransplantreviews.guide/en/procedures/fue/): "What the marketing does not explain clearly is that "FUE" is a family of techniques, not a single procedure. The follicular unit extraction step is shared, but the punch type (manual, motorised, sapphire, hex, robotic), the implantation step (forceps vs DHI implanter pen), and the degree of surgeon involvement (often a technician does most of the extraction) vary widely between clinics. Two clinics both selling "FUE" can produce materially different results."
  - Why on-voice: names what the sales pitch hides and gives the reader the variables to ask about.
- Example B (from https://hairtransplantreviews.guide/en/procedures/hair-transplant/): "A hair transplant is a decision that compounds over decades. The graft you receive at age 35 is the graft you keep at age 75, and the surgeon you choose is making aesthetic and medical decisions whose consequences you will see in lighting you cannot yet imagine. The two most valuable things you can bring to that decision are patience and skepticism."
  - Why on-voice: speaks to the reader directly about the stakes, with empathy and no reassurance.
#### 8. Anti-References
- Broker and facilitator landing pages ("all-inclusive Istanbul package", WhatsApp quote forms).
- Clinic brochure tone: guaranteed density, "painless", before-and-after galleries as proof.
- Generic health listicles that quote a single price without saying what it covers.
### STRATEGY
#### Mission
We help people considering a hair transplant, at home or abroad, compare procedures, real prices and clinics before they decide, using public patient reviews, published pricing and clinical literature.
#### Positioning
Authority depth first: each procedure article follows a 14-part structure with patient reports, ISHRS and PubMed cautions, and cited sources. Price position second: brokers hide prices behind a per-patient commission, while this guide publishes cost ranges per method and country. Locality third: destination comparisons (Turkey, India, Thailand, Korea, Mexico) and six languages, led by EN, DE and TR. We concede speed: articles are long, and the clinic directory and tools come after the editorial base.
#### Audiences
First-time researchers are weighing whether to have a procedure at all and compare FUE, DHI and FUT, cost and candidacy. Destination planners have decided to travel, most often to Turkey, and now choose a clinic and surgeon; many read in German, Turkish or French. Recovering patients have had a transplant and want the month-by-month picture. Non-surgical option seekers look at finasteride, minoxidil, PRP and devices first. Women are served inside each group through a dedicated women's section rather than a separate segment.
#### Competitors
Hair transplant brokers and medical-tourism facilitators paid per patient, clinic-owned review and "best clinic" sites, single-platform review sources (Google, RealSelf, Trustpilot), and forums such as r/HairTransplant. Source: strategy-work/projects/hairtransplant.guide/strategy/positioning.md.
#### What we will not do
No commission for medical referrals (not a broker). No paid placement in clinic rankings; any future sponsored section is labelled separately. No clinical advice. No clinic before-and-after photos as a ranking factor. No graft count or result guarantees. No endorsement of non-ISHRS clinics without disclosure. No Korean-language edition. Sources: strategy-work/projects/hairtransplant.guide/strategy/positioning.md (Anti-Goals), decisions.md D-006.
#### Bets for the horizon
1. Finish the drafted procedure articles and fill the shells, EN first, to build search entry points before launch (moves gsc_clicks, pages_indexed).
2. Publish cost by destination country as a price index brokers cannot match (moves pageview_recorded, gsc_impressions).
3. Roll out DE and TR, which with EN cover most measured search volume (moves pageview_recorded).
### MONETIZATION
#### Revenue model
Zero monetization in Phase 1 (months 0 to 6): pure editorial to build trust. Phase 2 adds display ads after 50k sessions a month, plus affiliates for post-op products and travel insurance. Phase 3 (year 1 and later) may add premium listings for verified clinics and data licensing (the roadmap also names consultation requests, see Not monetised). Display ads are the expected main line. No line has a dated decision or an existing integration yet, so every line is an idea. Source: positioning.md Monetization Roadmap.
#### Disclosure rules
Any paid relationship is disclosed on the page it touches. Paid clinic listings, if they ever exist, sit in a labelled "Sponsored" section and never affect ranking order. No commission copy appears on the site until a program is verified.
#### Not monetised
Clinic rankings, review aggregation and the price data are not for sale. No commission for medical referrals. No advertising trackers and no third-party data sales (cookie notice on the live site). Data licensing of the price index is a Phase 3 idea and is not listed as a line until the owner decides. Consultation request lead generation (clinics paying per lead) is not a line: positioning.md Anti-Goals rules out "direct medical referrals for commission", and a per-lead fee to a clinic is one.
#### Display ads
An idea for Phase 2 once traffic reaches 50k sessions a month. No ad network is integrated and no decision is dated, so it stays an idea. Measured as ad_revenue_recorded.
#### Post-op products and travel insurance affiliates
An idea for Phase 2: recovery kits and travel insurance for patients travelling abroad. No program has been checked.
#### Premium listings for verified clinics
An idea for Phase 3, verified clinics only, kept apart from the rankings. No buyer or price has been checked.
### KPI
#### Why these metrics
pageview_recorded is the primary: Phase 1 is pure editorial, and Phase 2 display ads start from a sessions threshold. gsc_clicks, gsc_impressions and avg_position show search reach once the noindex comes off. content_engaged shows whether the long procedure articles are read. newsletter_subscribed and affiliate_clicked come from the editorial-traffic template: the site has no newsletter form and no affiliate links yet, so both stay at zero until those exist. crawl_errors and pages_indexed are the guardrails, because thousands of generated pages across six locales risk index bloat (decisions.md D-004).
#### Reading guide
Before launch, all search metrics are zero by design (noindex, nofollow). After launch, read weekly pageview_recorded against the `(site)` target in kpi-mgmt once one is entered. If pages_indexed grows much faster than gsc_clicks, the shells are being indexed before they are useful.
#### Review cadence
Monthly until launch and through Phase 1, then quarterly against the 12-month bets in STRATEGY.md.
